Today they released the much anticipated, well trusted and highly tested Version 3.0. Many new features have been added and a few things have changed, but if you’re already familiar with WordPress, you should have no problems getting around.

Here we will show you the process of upgrading to WordPress 3.0 – it’s easy!

First, before we begin, it is very important that you BACKUP YOUR DATABASE. While nothing usually goes wrong, there are hundreds of plugins and many different hosting accounts and too many things can go wrong for you to risk it. Now that you’ve done that, let’s get started!

No doubt you are already familiar with logging into your website’s administrator side, but just in case, visit http://yourwebsite.com/wp-admin and enter your user name and password.

After you click on the prominent link “Please update now” you will be taken to the page we listed above.

Push “Upgrade Automatically” and your WordPress update will begin!

Congratulations! Now you can play around and use some of the new features. There are a bunch of amazing upgrades to the way pages are handled and plenty of new post updates.
